2017 Mabry Auction Gala - Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I Attend the Auction Gala?
The 2017 Mabry Auction Gala is a wonderful and fun way to meet other Mabry Parents, Faculty and Administration during a glamourous event. But, more importantly, it is the main fundraiser for your child’s school. The funds raised from this event go directly to support the needs of our school and our students for this year and beyond. For example, last year’s auction proceeds funded the new pavilion enhancements, iReady curriculum, security cameras, and teacher grants. So if you are asking yourself, Should I stay or should I go – GO! Return to Top
What happens at the Auction Gala?

The fun-filled event will start at 6:00 PM with the Silent Auction. For the first 2 ½ hours of the event you will be treated to complimentary beer and wine. Also, Signature cocktails and delicious passed hors d’ouevres will be provided. You can mingle with other guests and get the chance to bid on amazing and highly sought auction offerings. One of the favorite parts of the silent auction is seeing your child’s classroom project on display. You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase your child’s beautiful black and white photo, taken by Mabry’s own talented Kellie Hero! The silent auction will start closing out around 8:30 and at 9:00 we will head into the main event hall for the big LIVE AUCTION! Featured items are vacation getaways, an “Outdoor Gourmet” package which includes a Big Green Egg Grill and stocked Yeti cooler, the opportunity to “Fly Your College Flag” or “Name the Front Drive” for the next school year, amazing summer camps, sports memorabilia and tickets, a Food Truck Party and much more!

Be sure to visit the Blind Goat Beer Garden located in the outdoor section of the event. This bar will feature hand-picked premium craft beers on tap and in bottles. Yes - that’s right! Craft beers will be included in the complimentary drinks portion of the event.

After the Live Auction concludes, the festivities continue in the main event hall with more great food, music, and dancing. The DJ will be playing your favorite 80s hairband songs that everyone will sing along to! You won’t have to Fight for your Right to Party here.

Where is the event going to be held and where do I park?
For this fundraising event we are creating a special kind of Paradise City. The event will be held at Christ the King cafeteria and event hall/McLoughlin Center located at 821 S Dale Mabry Hwy, in South Tampa. Parking will be free for the event or you can take Uber/Lyft! If you arrive right at 6:00, the lot may be a bit crowded because of their Saturday night mass but there will certainly be some spots available, and the lot will clear out by 6:30. If you can, we recommend the Uber or Lyft route! Or get a big group together and hire a trolley! How convenient and fun!! Return to Top
What is the theme?
The theme is Rock of Ages, think 80s hairband rock n’ roll...or Madonna/Go-Go’s/Cyndi Lauper if that’s more your style. It’s up to you! Come to the event and hear some of your favorite 80s rock songs because we will be having Nothin’ But A Good Time! Return to Top
What is the dress code?
Dress up as your favorite 80s hairband icon, wear your favorite (now vintage) concert shirt, wear a bustier like Madonna, or make a night of it by dressing in cocktail-party attire. Don’t forget to tease your bangs or wear your hair Anyway You Want It. Return to Top
Where do I get tickets?
There are several ways to get tickets. The most popular option is with a family or business sponsorships where admission and drink tickets are included, or you can buy tickets individually. You can purchase either of these options online at or there will be members out front of school during drop-off and pick-up on select days. You can also fill out the ticket order form that will be going home in your child’s folder in the next couple of weeks, and return that to their teacher OR drop it in the Auction box in the front office. The Final Countdown is near so buy your tickets by clicking here to purchase tickets/sponsor levels. Return to Top
How do I bid on items?
You actually have multiple chances to bid on Auction items. The first will be at the early online auction and that is where you get to go after those coveted TEACHER DATES and MABRY EXPERIENCES, as well as other items and experiences. This will start on Feb. 8 at 7pm and go to Feb. 15th closing out at 10:00PM sharp! We will have a link on the website to register for bidding so stay tuned for that. Then of course at the event itself you’ll be able to bid during the silent auction and during the live auction! At the event check-in you will receive a lanyard and event pass with your bidding number. You won’t have to Bang Your Head trying to remember your bidding number when you bid on items all night.
