Notes from the Principal

Welcome to the 2016-17 school year!

We had a great start to the school year thanks to our students, staff and parent volunteers. In talking with families as we all returned, it was very nice to hear all the wonderful adventures our students experienced. Everyone seems rested and ready to go back to work!

I want to give a big THANK YOU to our staff for all their efforts to start off this year in a smooth, efficient way. Teachers have worked hard getting their rooms organized and ready for our students. Office and custodial staff have also worked extra hard in getting the school clean and ready for a great school year.

I would also like to say THANK YOU to all our families for the never ending support you give us. You make such a difference in our ability to succeed at Mabry and continue to be an "A" rated school. We appreciate all the volunteer hours and the support you give us each and every year.

Finally, I would like to send a big THANK YOU to Ms. Hajner (our beautification chair), the Chiellini family for donating 500 bags of mulch, and the families who came out for our "Annual Beautification Day." I hope everyone has had a chance to look around the school at the fresh landscape.

As I begin my sixth year as principal of Mabry Elementary, I look forward to working collaboratively with all stakeholders.

Sherri Frick, Principal

Are You Still Packing Lunch?

Did you know our school meal program operates a healthy, innovative, and cost-effective school meal program that is nationally regarded as one of the best in the country?

On a daily basis students are offered a range of whole grains, lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, and low-fat dairy. Our meals feature fresh, locally sourced items such as tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries, blueberries and green beans! The best part - breakfast is free and lunch is only $2.25, though your children may be eligible for free lunch depending on your household income.  To learn more about the school meal program, download the Nutrislice App, and access MyPayments Plus you can click here and go to the Mabry PTA website.

Today's school meals aren't what they used to be. Encourage your children to try them today and put the packing behind you!

Save Your Sneakers

The Mabry PTA is partnering with The Gotsneakers Organization.

Gotsneakers provides an opportunity to recycle your used sneakers and make a DIFFERENCE in the world!

We will be collecting any used sneakers from:  August 22nd-September 30th.

We will have several drop-off locations around the Mabry Campus. These used sneakers are then recycled and sent to individuals around the world.

Proceeds from this Mabry PTA fundraiser will benefit the 5th Grade Celebration Committee.
